Below please find information on insecticide labels (changes in formulation, etc.) for Intruder, Centric and Trimax. All three of these products are in the neonicotinoid class.

Intruder 70WP (Aventis)

  • Active Ingredient: acetamiprid (Also labelled as Assail in cotton and some veggies)
  • Class: Neonicotinoid Insecticide
  • Labeled Insects: aphids, whiteflies (sweet potato and silverleaf), plant bugs, fleahoppers, ovicide (bollworm and budworm)

Intruder insecticide was recently labeled. Intruder has good activity on aphids. We have limited experience on Silverleaf Whitefly, but Assail performed well in a trial conducted during 2000.

Centric 40WG (Syngenta)

  • Active Ingredient: thiamethoxam
  • Class: Neonicotinoid Insecticide
  • Labeled Insects: aphids, cotton fleahopper, tarnished plant bug, thrips, and whiteflies

Centric was labeled and marketed as Centric 25WG during 2001. Syngenta has changed the formulation to Centric 40WG this year. Centric has good activity on aphids.

Trimax (Bayer) 4 lb ai per gallon

  • Active Ingredient: imidacloprid (same active ingredient as Provado)
  • Class: Neonicotinoid Insecticide

Trimax is labeled on cotton only. Price is reduced compared with Provado. Target insects would be the same as with Provado. Trimax contains 4 lb ai/gallon compared with Provado which contained 1.6 lb ai/gallon.
