Intrepid insecticide is a recently labeled insecticide that has activity on Lepidoptera pests. Intrepid's mode of action mimics the action of the molting hormone of Lepidopterous larvae. Intrepid is similar to Confirm insecticide (also marketed by DowAgroSciences) but has a wider spectrum of activity.

Intrepid has good activity on beet armyworm at low rates (4 oz./acre). Intrepid is thus an economical treatment for beet armyworm. Intrepid has good residual on treated foliage. However, we did not include Intrepid in the Pest Control Handbook due to Rotational Crop Restrictions on the current label. These restrictions are expected to be lifted in the future. Please see the Intrepid label for additional information.

Rotational Crop Restrictions (from Intrepid Label)

The following rotational crops may be planted at intervals defined below following the final application of Intrepid at recommended rates for a registered use.

Crop Recropping Intervals (days)

  • Cotton No restrictions
  • Leafy vegetables 365 days
(except "Brassica vegetables" and Root and Tater vegetables)
  • All other crops Prohibited.
